Bringing Max Planet: To the Furthest Galaxy to Life with AI Animation
Creating an animated movie inspired by Max Planet: To the Furthest Galaxy using AI generation has been a fascinating and challenging experience. What started as an exciting creative experiment quickly became a lesson in precision, patience, and learning how to communicate with artificial intelligence.
One of the biggest challenges was learning how to write the right prompts for Dreamina’s Seedance 2.0 Mini engine. Early in the process, getting exactly what I envisioned wasn’t always easy. Characters would unexpectedly change appearances, dialogue would stutter, characters would duplicate, and objects would morph into something completely different.
Over time, I learned that the smallest details in a prompt can make the biggest difference.
Instructions such as “no duplicate characters,” “no stuttering dialogue,” “no character morphing,” and “maintain consistent character appearances” became essential. By the end of the process, I had developed a much better understanding of how to communicate exactly what I wanted, dramatically reducing the need to regenerate videos and waste valuable credits.
The Importance of Reference Images
Perhaps the most valuable lesson was discovering just how important reference images are.
If you’re creating AI-generated animation, make sure your reference image is as close to perfect as possible before pressing generate.
A poorly designed reference image can lead to an equally disappointing animation. Getting the characters, lighting, composition, and visual details right beforehand makes an enormous difference in the final result.

AI Makes Animation Easier, But Creative Direction Still Matters
There’s no question that AI has made animation dramatically faster and more accessible. What once required large production teams, specialized software, and months or even years of work can now be approached by independent creators with limited resources.
Throughout this project, ChatGPT assisted with refining my prompts. I described the scenes I envisioned, identified mistakes in the generated results, and worked with ChatGPT to create more precise instructions.
Over time, we developed a consistent set of prompting guidelines that helped prevent recurring problems. ChatGPT helped carry those requirements into each new scene, while I focused on individual prompts, storytelling, character consistency, pacing, and visual direction.
The result was a much more efficient creative workflow, allowing me to spend less time correcting mistakes and more time bringing the story to life.
AI didn’t replace the creative process. It gave me a new way to bring my imagination to the screen.
From AI Generation to Final Production
Beyond generating the animations, I used CapCut to edit scenes together, refine transitions, and synchronize the visuals with carefully selected background music from Pixabay to create the right emotional impact. I also sketched out my ideas and communicated specific visual details to the AI image generator, using Adobe Photoshop to modify and perfect reference images whenever necessary. Combining these tools allowed me to transform individual AI-generated clips into a cohesive, cinematic storytelling experience that closely matched my original creative vision.
A New Way to Bring Stories to Life
This experience has given me a greater appreciation for both the possibilities and limitations of AI-assisted filmmaking. While the technology is impressive, bringing a story to life still requires imagination, direction, problem-solving, and persistence.
And for an independent creator working with a limited budget, learning how to make every generation count is just as important as the creative vision itself.
Max Planet is more than a collection of books. It’s a universe I’m excited to keep bringing to life, one scene at a time.
