Bloom Logo Animation — A Case Study
by Chris Ramey

For this project, I designed and animated a contemporary flower logo that visually communicates confidence, growth, and intentional presentation. The goal was to create a mark that felt refined and corporate, while still retaining a sense of organic life and emotion.
I began by designing the logo itself, focusing on simplicity and balance. The flower was intentionally reduced to its essential forms, leaving minor details to the imagination so the mark would feel timeless and scalable, something appropriate for a Fortune 500–level brand. Each petal was designed to feel purposeful, proud, and structurally confident.

Using Illustrator, I developed multiple stages of the flower, from an unbloomed bud to a fully open, simplified logo mark. I refined the shapes so the petals felt strong and deliberate, emphasizing symmetry and clean geometry while maintaining an organic presence.
I then brought the artwork into After Effects, where I animated the transformation. The motion was designed to feel like the flower was presenting itself as if it’s excited, confident, and proud of its petals, rather than simply opening mechanically. Subtle easing and timing adjustments helped the bloom feel natural and expressive without being exaggerated.
Throughout the process, Photoshop was used for visual refinement and testing, while Adobe Media Encoder handled final exports for clean, web-ready delivery.
The result is a polished logo animation that bridges organic growth and corporate clarity. Demonstrating how thoughtful motion design can elevate a brand’s identity and emotional presence.
