This semester, I embarked on an exciting new journey in my design education: 3D modeling. As someone passionate about digital design, I knew this class would open up new possibilities for my creative work. So far, it has been an eye-opening experience, providing me with an entirely new dimension (literally and figuratively) to explore in my designs.
Learning the Fundamentals
The class has been incredibly informative, covering everything from basic shapes to more complex structures. We’ve worked with various modeling techniques, texturing, and even lighting to bring our creations to life. Understanding these concepts has deepened my appreciation for 3D art and has given me the skills to create my own models from scratch.
Showcasing My Work
One of the most rewarding aspects of the class is seeing my progress. I started with simple objects, but as my skills improved, I tackled more intricate designs. Below are a few of the 3D models I’ve created so far:

– A sleek rocket with realistic textures.

– A detailed 3D design of my bedroom, featuring realistic lighting, textures, and furniture placement. This project allowed me to explore spatial design and refine my ability to create immersive environments.
Each model has taught me something new about structure, proportions, and rendering, and I’m excited to continue refining my skills.
Applying 3D to Web Design
What excites me most is how I can integrate 3D elements into my web designs. The ability to incorporate 3D graphics into UI/UX layouts, product showcases, and interactive elements will set my work apart. Whether it’s using 3D product renders to enhance an e-commerce site or adding dynamic graphics to a landing page, this class has given me the tools to push my designs further.
Looking Ahead
I plan to continue honing my 3D modeling skills and experimenting with different styles. As I develop my portfolio, I’ll incorporate 3D elements into my projects, blending them seamlessly with my existing graphic and web design expertise.
If you’re a designer considering learning 3D modeling, I highly recommend it. It’s a fantastic way to expand your creative toolkit and add a new layer of depth to your work.
Stay tuned for more updates on my 3D design journey!
