My NowandThen collection takes images from today and from the early 20th century mixed to give the illusion of looking back in time. This concept originated from a digital design assignment that involved merging two images. I created several compositions during the course and later refined them with different drafts. I find it fascinating to compare how a city appeared in the past with how it looks today, creating the illusion of looking back in time.

The Chicago image, in particular, stands out as the most impactful. I made it as a going-away gift for my brother, who was moving to Chicago, and it felt like a meaningful way to honor his journey. He works for United Airlines and was promoted to operations manager, so this was also a congratulatory gift. I love how the vibrant colors of the modern city on the left contrast sharply with the dark, black-and-white photo on the right, enhancing the sense of time and transformation.

The Golden Gate Bridge image is also one of my favorites. Finding two images that work together is no easy task. The result captures the blend of history and modernity in a way that feels almost seamless.
Let me know which one is your favorite!
